Wednesday Morning Commute

I90 wasn't nearly as good as I thought it would be this morning. The ramps obviously had some ice on them and while in Wisconsin they seemed fine, but once I got up the hill by Nodine there were plenty of slick spots. The slickest spots seemed to be between the Nodine Exit 266 (HWY 12) and the Winona Exit 252 (HWY 43 N). Then the roads improved a bit again. They worse again though from the St Charles Exit 233 (HWY 74) all the way to the Rochester Exit 218 (HWY 52) this time with lots of blowing snow. HWY 52 seemed to be in pretty good shape but then I saw a huge accident that was backing up traffic heading South on the bridge over US 63 while coming into Rochester. They had police and firetrucks there and I couldn't see what had happened from my lane but it didn't look good. Bottom line is that the roads may be better but they still aren't great so drive carefully. The following pictures were taken between 6:50 and 8:00 pm this morning.
