I'm working at home today so no new road condition pictures. It's cool and sunny though and looks like it will be a lovely day. Enjoy the sunshine and drive safe.

Alert: Roads Flooded in La Crosse

Just talked to my wife and she passed along this picture of water flooding the roads in La Crosse. Look like the storm drains backed up but I haven't heard anything official. Try to avoid Losey Blvd/HWY 16 if you can. She was trying to get there from Cass street and said things are a mess. Not only is there water on the roads but there is also a motorcycle convention thing going on in the city this weekend as well. Please drive safe.

Friday Morning Commute

We've almost made it to another weekend. The sky was still dry when I left La Crosse, WI this morning but I did run into the rain on my way into work. It looks like it's moving East so it will probably hit everywhere along i90 today. Stay dry and drive safe.

Thursday Morning Commute

There is a lot more traffic then usual on i90 this morning. I spose it's probably due to summer travelers. What was odd was that some people were really speeding a lot while others were moving notably slower then the speed limit. Probably the effects of high gas prices (guess not everyone cares). As always, drive safe.

Tuesday Morning

I'm staying put at home today so no new road condition pictures from i90. It's a nice sunny morning though and with only a slight chance of rain this afternoon driving on i90 shouldn't be a problem. As always drive safe.

Monday Morning Commute

There seemed to be a lot more roadkill then normal on my drive along i90 this morning. I spose this could be due to more deer and animals on the move lately but my guess is that now that summer is here, more people are traveling meaning that it's more likely for deer to get hit when crossing the highway. It seemed like I saw more licenses plates from out of the area then normal today including one from New York and another from Florida. If you're going out on the road be sure to drive safe.

Friday Morning Commute

It's another beautiful morning. Temperatures are finally getting up into the 80's where they should be and there are getting to be more bugs out (as you can see by my dirty windshield this morning). Drive safe and enjoy the weekend.

Thursday Morning

Nice to have all this sunshine back in the area again. I heard this morning that all the area rivers are below flood stage so maybe things will settle down back to normal. I'm at home today so no new pictures but I did want to share that my little car just turned over 160,000 miles. My wife bought it used in college with around 30,000 miles and it's been a good car for us. That's a lot of commuting and hopefully it will still be going strong for another 160,000. Time will tell. As always drive safe.

Monday Morning Commute

A new work week is here and things are finally starting to dry out a bit. One good thing I heard about all the rain and flooding on the local news this morning was that mosquito populations shouldn't be any worse due to all the water we've seen. In fact they theorized that many of the mosquito eggs were probably washed south of us as far as Illinois perhaps so that could be a good thing for us this summer. For now I'm just happy to be seeing the sun again today. As always drive safe.

Friday Morning Commute

Blue Skies are back and just in the nick of time. Early this morning my weather radio woke me up to let me know that part of i90 had been closed east of La Crosse due to flooding. Yesterday I also heard reports of i90 being closed west of Rochester over in Austin, MN. Fortunately my section of i90 still has no water over it or even close in most parts so I was still able to drive into Rochester to work today. Always nice to be reminded what the sun looks like. Enjoy your weekend and drive safe.

Thusday Morning Commute

Wet, wet, wet! We've had enough rain to last us for quite a while now. My drive from La Crosse to Rochester along i90 featured rain almost the entire way this morning and at times it was pretty heavy. It's crazy seeing water all over fields and flooding low lying areas. For some reason my camera phone won't send pictures to my account today so I've got no new pictures of road conditions to post. Figured it was only fitting to post a Fun Shot that I took on a previous rainy day on my drive. Believe me it looked pretty much the same this morning. Hopefully the rain is done now and we can dry out this weekend. The area is under several flood warnings so drive extra safely and be sure you don't try to drive through any standing water.

Wednesday Morning

I'm at home today still trying to dry out my basement before it rains again. Sounds like we are going to get hit hard with rain this afternoon, tonight and tomorrow (and possibly this weekend). At times these storms could be severe so keep that in mind as you travel on i90 and other roads in the area. Drive safe and stay dry.

Tuesday Morning Commute

By George, what is that bright thing in the sky? Seems like it's been so long since we've seen the sun but it sure is nice. With so much rain, we ended up with water in our basement Sunday night so having the sun out yesterday probably kept us from getting any more damage. Needless to say I was still a bit tired driving in today after shopvacing wet carpet late into the night. Things look nice on i90 though. As always drive safe.

Friday Morning Commute

Friday morning and we did get some rain last night. From the looks of the forecast we'll have rain every day for the next week or longer. Already feels like we haven't seen much of the sun for a while. At least I got to see some blue sky right away this morning. As I drove further down i90 towards Rochester it got more and more cloudy again though so it was short lived. The good news is my allergies seem to be mostly gone. There were a few extra police officers out on i90 in Wisconsin this morning. As always drive safely.

Wednesday Morning Roads

Nothing really new to show today. I90 looks pretty much the same as yesterday; Dreary and wet. The good news is that with all the rain this week my allergies have stayed in check a little better. Unfortunately we really need to put some Weed and Feed fertilizer on our lawn and they recommend waiting till a time when it won't rain for 24hrs and the extended forecast calls for at least a chase of rain everyday for quite a while. I guess the weeds get another week or two. As always drive safe.

Things were a bit soggy on my way into work this morning. The rain did let up as I got closer to Rochester but seemed to follow me along most of i90. As always drive safe.

I'm at home today so no new pictures from i90. Here's the Fun Shot of the Day. Chance of rain is in the forecast all week so this only seemed appropriate. Drive Safe.
