Monday Morning Commute

It's a brand new week and the tree pollen counts must be up cause my allergies were acting up yesterday. Looks like we are going to get some rain today and it's starting off a little on the chilly side. Something was going on just East of the Rushford Exit 249 as I saw three police cars all with cars pulled over in the East bound lanes of i90 all within less then a mile. Couldn't tell if they were just trying to crack down on speeders there or if it was something bigger. Tried to snap a picture but it didn't turn out well. Anyways have a good Monday and drive safe.

Friday Morning Commute

Finally it's Friday. Something about all the rain we've been getting makes the weeks seem really long. My drive in this morning provided the heaviest rain this week though still not a an all out downpour. You want to be a bit careful in places where the road dips because there was enough water in some of those places to pull my car slightly while going the speed limit. Really driving on i90 isn't an issue today though. Between some fog and the rain though be sure to keep your eyes open and drive safe.

Thursday Morning Commute

Thursday morning on i90 is looking pretty nice again and best of all the wind isn't as bad today either. There are some clouds to the West that look like could produce some rain today but no problems driving. Over by Houston, MN / HWY 76 -- Exit 257 on i90 there was a boom truck doing something in the ditch (see picture below). Can't quite figure out what they were doing. Tuesday Morning Commute

My drive into Rochester along i90 was pretty good today. Only thing I can really complain about is the sun isn't out but at least there is no precipitation or gusty winds to deal with. Sounds like more winter could be on the way for tonight so drive safe.

Wednesday Morning Commute

Tuesday Morning Commute

Well I made my way over to Rochester, MN leaving La Crosse, WI around 9:30 this morning. i90 were in better shape then I thought it would be and was great on the Wisconsin side of the border. Once I got up the hill to around the Nodine, MN / HWY 12 -- Exit 266, things got really foggy and there was visible patches of ice in spots especially in the passing lane. The fog started lifting around Rushford, MN -- HWY 43 S -- Exit 249 though and from there on the roads were mostly just wet. HWY 52 coming into Rochester was in good shape as well. We'll have to keep an eye on things today though as those wet roads could freeze up for the drive home. Drive safe.

Monday Morning Commute

Monday morning's drive in from La Crosse, WI to Rochester, MN was smooth sailing all the way. Thanks to daylight savings time change this weekend it was still dark when I left making it mostly impossible to get any good pictures for most of the drive. The roads are good though. Thursday Morning Commute

This morning's commute was much better then yesturdays. I90 is pretty clean for almost the entire drive from La Crosse, WI to Rochester, MN. There was just a little bit of ice along the outside edge of the passing lane in the strech of about 5 miles before the HWY 52 Exit 218 on i90 but as long as you were in the lane there was no need to slow down. We need more days like this. These pictures were taken between 7 and 8 am.
